We can use words like much, many, little and few with degree modifiers like too, so, as, very, rather and how. Note that very much and very many are mostly used in questions and negatives.

In English there are some shorter alternatives for longer phrases. For example, we can use much or many instead of a lot of. In the same way, we can use far instead of a long way. But note that the longer forms and shorter forms are used in different cases.

The difference between so much and so many is the same as the difference between much and many. So much is used with singular uncountable nouns. So many is used with plural nouns.
