Adjectives worksheet

Adjectives are describing words. We use them to describe a certain quality associated with a noun. Examples are: kind, nice, sweet, soft, pleasant, clever, first, second etc.

Adjectives usually go before the nouns that they modify. They can also go after be and other copular verbs. Test your understanding of adjectives with this grammar exercise.

Underline the adjectives in the following sentences.

1. The poor man has seen happier days.

2. I asked him to say the same thing twice over.

3. She is running a slight temperature.

4. Choose the lesser of the two evils.

5. I have never had such a strange experience.
