Each sentence given below contains some mistakes. The mistakes could be in the use of nouns, verbs, adjectives or prepositions. Identify the mistake and rewrite the sentences correctly.

Answers

1. She was carrying a lot of luggage. (The word luggage does not have a plural form.)

2. Have you got any information about this course?

3. She is prettier than her sister.

4. John’s car is very fast. (With the names of people we do not normally use the structure with of.)

5. This is her umbrella.

6. We went to a movie yesterday. The movie was very good. (A singular countable noun always takes an article or another determiner with it.)

7. She is the best singer in the world. (We use the article the with adjectives in the superlative degree.)

8. Sally and Alice work at a supermarket. (Two or more singular nouns connected by and takes a plural verb.)

9. John or Peter has broken the window. (Two or more singular nouns connected by or takes a singular verb.)

10. He swam across the river.
