Conjunctions exercise

Combine the following sentences using a conjunction.

1. I worked all day. I was tired.

2. The boy fell down. He was climbing up the ladder.

3. I had lost my passport. I applied for a new one.

4. I once saw a little boy. He was walking on a tight rope.

5. The horse bolted. Someone had left the stable door open.

6. He was paralytic. He could not walk.

7. I heard a loud noise. I woke up.

8. He failed in the first attempt. He made no further attempts.

9. I picked up the phone.  I dialed the number.

10. The enemy fought furiously. They defended their ground inch by inch.
