Using has and have

The auxiliary verbs has and have are used in the present tense to indicate ideas such as possession, relationships and physical characteristics.

  • She has blue eyes.
  • They have a tea estate.
  • She has a sweet personality.

Has and have are also used to form present perfect tenses.

  • They have finished the job.
  • He has received the parcel.

Use have when the subject is a plural noun or the pronouns I, we, they or you.

Use has when the subject is a singular noun or the pronouns he, she or it.
