Simple Past vs. Present Perfect Tense

Fill in the blanks with the simple past or present perfect tense form of the verb.

Both the present perfect and the simple past are used to talk about finished events. Note that the present perfect cannot be used with past time expressions. In other words, we do not normally use the present perfect when we say when something happened.
