Complete the following sentences using appropriate pronouns.

3. I swam across the river. (The emphatic pronouns ‘myself’, ‘yourself’, ‘himself’ etc., should only be used for emphasis. They cannot be used as subjects or objects in a sentence.)

5. Somebody has to take the lead.

6. All that glitters is not gold.

7. I have got what I wanted.

8. What cannot be cured must be endured.

9.  Neither Peter nor James turned up.

10. I have invited them all. / I have invited all of them.
